Josie Quick is a violinist and experienced teacher who works with students of all levels, from beginners to advanced players. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in violin performance from the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver.
Josie began teaching while still in high school and has been passionate about it ever since. Her approach combines solid technique with creativity and curiosity, helping students develop ease in their playing—because when it feels good, it becomes fun. She encourages students to go beyond the notes and explore what makes music expressive and personal.
Her teaching style blends traditional note reading with Suzuki concepts, tailored to each student’s age, goals, and learning style. While rooted in classical training, Josie also incorporates fiddle tunes, jazz, and blues to give students a broader musical vocabulary and keep lessons engaging.
In addition to her private studio, Josie has taught group classes in bluegrass and blues improvisation at Swallow Hill Music. These classes focus on building confidence in a relaxed, supportive environment, helping students experience the joy of playing with others. Many of her students go on to join or lead their own jam sessions.
Students of all ages and abilities are welcome. To contact Josie, call 720-201-3234 or email josieq@perpetual-motion.net
