String Quartet

The Frontera String
Quartet will add a touch of elegance to your celebration with
its classical string quartet repertoire. Invite Mozart and Bach
to your event and everyone will be impressed! Two violins, viola,
and cello make up the Frontera String Quartet. Specializing in
weddings, they will provide consulting as well as music. A complete
list of wedding music is available upon request. A string quartet
is also wonderful entertainment for receptions and parties. Also
available as a string trio, duo or solo violin.
The members of the
Frontera String Quartet all received degrees from the University
of Denver Lamont School of Music, which is where they met. All
of the members are professional musicians who perform and teach
full time. They have played together in various combinations
since their school days, but came together and formed the Frontera
in 1994.
Josie Quick, violinist
Josie Quick received her Bachelor of Music in violin performance
in 1987. She currently performs with the original jazz ensemble
Perpetual Motion, which has recorded three CDs that have received
critical and popular acclaim. She is an instructor at the Swallow
Hill Music Association, where she teaches Folk Orchestra and
Blues Fiddle classes. She has worked with the Boulder Philharmonic,
the Arapahoe Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Jefferson Symphony.
Josie teaches a large studio of private students.
Lisa Appleton, violinist
Lisa received her Bachelor of Music Education. Since 1990 she
has performed throughout the Rocky Mountain region in the violin
and cello duo "Apples and Honey". Lisa is a member
of the Arapahoe Philharmonic Orchestra. She is the string specialist
of St. Mary's Academy and co-conductor for the Littleton Youth
Orchestra.
Katie Fouse, violist
Katie earned her Bachelor's of Music in viola performance and
her Master's Degree in Suzuki pedagogy from the University of
Denver. She has performed with the Colorado Springs Symphony,
Mercury Ensemble and the Colorado Symphony orchestras, in addition
to numerous string quartets. She is a highly acclaimed instructor
in the Suzuki method, and has been teaching for the past eighteen
years.
Jennifer Fouse, cellist
Jennifer received her Master's degree in music performance from
the University of Denver and her Bachelor of Arts degree from
Sarah Lawrence College. She has performed with the Colorado Springs
Symphony, the Denver Chamber Orchestra, and the Colorado Ballet
Orchestra. She currently is a member of the Mercury Ensemble.
Aside from a busy performing schedule, Jennifer teaches a large
class of cello students.

A
demo CD of the following selections is available.
Processionals- when the bride
and bridesmaids walk down the aisle. You can
choose seperate music for bridesmaids or have all the girls walk
down to the
same music.
Interludes- music that
can be played during the ceremony for things like
lighting of the unity candle, communion.
Recessionals- For that joyous
moment when the ceremony is over and you've
just kissed!
